The "Building for Ministry" conference is just the event you have been looking for. It is a conference that talks about getting from the Vision Stage to the Ministry Stage. For years people have asked; "if we build a multi-ministries building, will our church grow?" The answer is actually not that simple. You might build it and grow, or you might build it and it becomes a burden! Church buildings of any kind should be built with the end result in mind...reaching people for Jesus Christ. Buildings don't reach people, people reach people. Church Recreation is one of the best tools to reach people. However, we need our buildings to be "tools for ministry" as well.
“Building for Ministry” is a combined effort of the Missouri Baptist Convention's: Biblical Stewardship, Building for Tomorrow, and Sunday School and Discipleship ministries. Also represented at this conference will be Sports Crusader's, North American Mission Board's Church Finance Ministry, and Lifeway Christian Resources’, Church Architecture and Church Recreation Departments. This conference will enable you to gain understanding of the processes of planning the building, programming the facility for ministry, determining the size and cost, and considering buildings that function well. We will help you answer questions that you have and ask questions that you need to answer.
There are many reasons for this conference to be held at Franklin Baptist Association's “multi-ministry” building. This is a nice building that was designed to do many things. Many churches want to build sensible buildings that have many functions. So we will not only hold our conference but will also demonstrate in this building both worship and recreation. September 15-16, 2008 will give you the opportunity to "test drive" a multi-purpose facility.
