  1. To direct the funds received from Missouri Baptist churches to the entities and institutions as designated by the individual churches.
  2. To have every church in Missouri participating in the GuideStone Financial Resources of the SBC retirement plan.

2010 Compensation Study
The 2010 Compensation Study was a joint project of state Baptist conventions, GuideStone Financial Resources, and LifeWay Christian Resources. Compensation and congregational data was collected anonymously from ministers and office/custodial personnel of Southern Baptist churches and church-type missions. Reports are based on compensation for nearly 12,000 respondents from all 50 states.

This information is provided by the Business & Financial Services office of the Missouri Baptist Convention as an overview of church financial policies and procedures. These articles will be updated periodically.  We hope your church finds them helpful in your daily administration of church business.

The budget is a document that basically is a proposed plan for accomplishing the church’s purpose or plan.

The budget should:

1. Identify the church’s goals and objectives.

2. Identify the probable revenue sources.

3. Identify the expenses associated with obtaining the program goals and objectives.

The budget should be compared with actual revenues and expenditures periodically.

Beginning on July 1, 2011 - Dec 31, 2011, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be:

  • 55.5 cents per mile for business miles driven
  • 23.5 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes
  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations
