Chaplaincy Annual Development Conference
October 8-10, 2012
Conference Topic: "Coaching on the Run"
Led by Steve Kersh and Ken Miller
We all know that a chaplain’s conversations don’t always revolve around spiritual things. Those we serve talk to us about financial problems, career decisions, personal growth and a lot more. Effectively listening to the people we serve about their non-spiritual issues is one of the best ways to gain permission to talk about spiritual things. Coaching on the Run is designed to help the busy chaplain be better equipped to listen to and coach the people in our respective ministry settings. The goal is to help those we serve to be more successful human beings in their work life and spiritual life.
In Coaching on the Run, you’ll be introduced to skills that will help you listen more effectively, establish personal goals and agendas, discover and explore key issues, determine priorities and action steps, provide support and encouragement, and evaluate and revise plans when necessary. The skills you learn will make you a better chaplain, co-worker, spouse, and parent. So what are you waiting for? Get registered and get ready to coach!
Registration is necessary to attend a Chaplaincy conference. The event will be held at the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City.
