Great Commission christians, in Great Commission churches,
transforming communities with the Gospel.
“Show-Me Health” is the State Emphasis for 2010. To introduce the “Vital Signs of a Healthy Church Health Assessment Tool”, fifteen Church Health Clinics were held around the state during March and April 2010. Over 50 churches participated in this first series of Health Clinics. In addition, several individual church and associational Health Clinics have been held. Churches across the state are already beginning to see the benefits of using the tool to evaluate how they are doing in each of the five areas covered. The video below will help to explain how the Assessment Tool is designed and how it works. We encourage you to watch it. If you have questions about the Assessment Tool or how it can be used in your church or association, please feel free to contact us.

With the completion of this first series of Church Health Clinics, we want to make the Assessment Tool available for anyone to use. Directors of Missions are encouraged to use it in an associational Health Clinic. Pastors are encouraged to use it with their key leaders. Members of the MBC Church Health Staff are also available to come and lead a clinic for an association or church as their schedules permit.
To request an MBC Staff member to lead a clinic, call Mike Cooper, Church Health Team Leader at 1-800-736-6227 ext. 410, mcooper@mobaptist.org . To request copies of the Assessment Tool, simply contact your Associational Director of Missions or the MBC Church Health Office. They will be mailed to you free of charge with instructions as to how to use the tool most effectively. As part of the follow-up effort for churches that use the Assessment Tool, we have trained a number of Church Health Consultants across the state who can be assigned to a church for a small fee. These consultants will walk along with a church for a period of six to twelve months to provide help and resources for accomplishing the growth goals discovered during the health assessment. Contact us for more details about having a Church Health Consultant assigned.
It is our desire to assist and encourage you and your church leadership as you seek to become the vibrant body of Christ that will continue to advance our Lord’s Kingdom in the community where He has placed you.
