Here is a letter to you from some of the missionaries you support through the Cooperative Program:

November 6, 2006

Dear Family and Friends,
While many of you are enjoying cooler temperatures and preparing for holidays and winter, we here in Mzimba are melting in the heat and praying for rain! We are thankful that no matter the weather, God is faithful and provides for our needs. Here are some praises and requests for the Tumbuka people and for our family this month.

Mzimba Association Meeting - The association meeting was a very good time of learning and encouragement. Four baptists from Lundazi, Zambia, came for the meeting as well. It is good to see many people with a hunger to learn and grow in their faith. Pray for the association over the coming months that they would finish the year well and know God's will for their activities in 2007.

Literacy Training Meeting - We are excited that the time for training literacy teachers here in Mzimba has finally arrived! Mary, another missionary in Malawi, will be leading the teacher training November 16-19. Please be in prayer for this important meeting and opportunity. Pray that the Lord would send those teachers with a real heart to teach adults to read and to minister to the community through literacy training. Mary shared that the training went very well in her area in October, thank you so much for your prayers.

Leaders - One of our constant prayers for the Tumbuka Baptist believers is that the Lord would raise up committed Christ-like leaders among the people and that He would strengthen and sustain current leaders. We rejoice that Samson Zimba graduated from the Baptist Theological Seminary of Malawi last month. We also rejoice that two new students from the Mzimba Association have been accepted for the new school year starting January 2007. Pray that they may learn and grow through their classes over the next 4 years.

Currently we are in the middle of our two week session of Bible school here in Mzimba. The students arrived October 29 and will be in session until November 11. Gary did a great job and really enjoyed teaching Baptist Beliefs to the students last week. Please be in prayer for all the leaders in the Tumbuka area - current Bible school and seminary students, leaders who have completed their studies, lay leaders and deacons in our churches. Pray that they would have a deep love for Jesus and would desire to know and serve Him with all their hearts. Please pray that the Lord would provide for them and their families and that their treasure will be found in the Lord.

Family - Michelle had a wonderful time at the homeschool workshop in South Africa. She came back with tonsillitis and a horrible cold, but was truly blessed by the conference. Gary and the kids did well while Michelle was away. We have had a bit of a water scare, but the Lord has faithfully provided our water needs daily. Please pray that the rains will come soon as everything is unusually dry and people are desperate for rain. Pray for our family that the Lord will guide us, protect us, and teach us His ways. Also, please pray for Gary on his birthday, November 8.

THANK YOU - We are so overwhelmingly thankful for all of your prayer support. I (Michelle) was thinking also this week of how thankful we are for your faithful gifts to the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. Your gifts allow us to have a water storage tank to use when the city water has often been out lately. Your gifts provided a way for me to go to the homeschool conference to learn and be encouraged. Your gifts provide for Bible School students to study God's Word and be prepared for service in Baptist churches. The list of things that your gifts provide is endless, just as the list of things we have to thank God for is endless. May the Lord return to you and bless you as you have blessed us. May He especially bless you during the Thanksgiving season.

Love in Christ,
Gary, Michelle, Samuel and Lydia Robertson

THANK YOU Gary, Michelle, Samuel and Lydia Robertson for "...giving yourselves first to the Lord" and then to Southern Baptists and to the people of Mzimba, Malawi. Pray for the Robertsons... and for Gary’s Mother–a missionary in her own right, Kay Robertson, Administrative Assistant for your Missouri Baptist Convention.
