Challengers
Challengers is the church-based Southern Baptist youth mission education organization for young men in grades 7-12.
As a church-based organization, each Challengers group is owned, operated, and supported by a local church. As a Southern Baptist organization, Challengers has associational, state, and national leadership, events, resources, and networks. As a mission education organization, its purpose is to equip and mobilize young men and their leaders to be on mission with God and each other. As a young men’s organization, its activities and materials are designed to fit the interest and abilities of teenage boys.
Challengers is a mission accountability group for Christian young men. Challengers are becoming leaders in the area of working with God and other Christians in accomplishing His purpose in the world. They are being trained rather than entertained. They are learning to be responsible and accountable. They are also being trained on how to lead others to Christ. They challenge their youth group and church to be on mission with God.
