Requests from Chicago Metro Baptist Association:

1. God's House of Divine Revelation Baptist Church is needing help with construction work on the interior and exterior of their building.  If interested, contact Pastor Keith Walker at 773-981-5157 (cell).

2. 7. Centennial Missionary Baptist Church needs help restoring a landmark church building that they recently purchased. It is located at 4359 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL.  Repairs needed are: plastering and painting parts of the sanctuary, halls and offices; window frame restoration; choir stand and pulpit construction; electrical and plumbing improvements; digging out, laying a floor, and placing a baptismal pool in the Fellowship Hall; and repairing stairs leading to the sanctuary that have suffered water damage.  Centennial M.B. Requests from Fox Valley Association:

1. FBC Channahon, IL is a long-standing Southern Baptist Church in a fast-growing community in the far southwest suburbs of Chicago. They have built a new building to house their Worship and Community Center as well as a new home for their Pre-K thru High School Christian Academy.  Exterior structure of the building has been completed.  They have received permits for the water tie-in and fire suppression system.  Water main connection is ready to be completed.  They are ready to complete the ceilings in the hallways and classrooms and are in dire need of help getting insulation put up.  They are looking to gain occupancy of Phase I in the next month or so.  Phase II and III (main sanctuary) will be in progress well through summer of 2011.  Any help would be appreciated whether it be for a day or a few days. If interested in helping them, please e-mail Jenny Schmeltzer (Volunteer Coordinator) at jennyls7@netzero.netor call 815-260-0011.

Request from Three Rivers Baptist Association:

1. New Vision Missionary BC is one of the newest churches in Three Rivers Baptist Association.  The church is located in the low income area of Kankakee, IL.  They have been doing ministry all winter without heat in their building but they kept going.  Recently, it was discovered that the main floor joists and beams are termite damaged.  The floor is super weak and needs to be repaired.  Right above the floor damage is an on-going roof leak that adds wet rot to the already damaged floor joists.  A church in Southern Illinois has sent a team to assess the damage and are willing to send a team to do the repairs in June.  The total cost of repairs is around $1,000 ($600 for the roof replacement, $250 for the flooring repairs, and $150 for the front step replacement).  The front steps are super narrow and very steep.  Would you prayerfully consider helping out this church in time of need?  Could you personally or could your church make a donation to this need?  Dr. Dan Eddington, DOM, is donating the $150 to repair the front steps but help is needed in raising the rest.  If you can provide financial assistance to help New Vision Missionary Baptist Church with repairs to their building, contact the Director of Missions, Dr. Dan Eddington, at 815-725-7361 or dan@3riversbaptist.org
    
2. A church in Streator, Il had a mission team back out on them and they still need help with VBS.  They would like to have about ten people come and help them conduct VBS this Summer.  It is scheduled for July 11-15.  If you are interested, contact Dr. Dan Eddington, DOM, at 815-725-7361 or dan@3riversbaptist.org 

Request from North Central Baptist Association 

1. Halsted Road and First Baptist Church Machesney Park are two churches that would like to have mission teams come and help with putting on a roof this summer.  Both churches say they can come up with the materials but they need help in tearing off the old roof and replacing it with the new one.  These are not tall or steep roofs...probably a 4/12 pitch.  The work could be done any time this summer or early fall.  There may be some help with housing and possibly food.  Halsted Road Baptist Church is located at 3326 Halsted Road, Rockford, IL 61101.  If you would like more information about the roofing project at Halsted Road, contact Pastor Jerry Demond at 815-979-9676.  First Baptist Church, Machesney Park is located at 718 Harlem Road, Machesney Park, IL 61115.  If you can help FBC Machesney Park with their roofing project, contact the pastor, Dr. Kevin Kerr at revkev04@sbcglobal.net
