 Testimonies from the 2008 Emphasis

"What a success at Antioch this past month! We have seen a significant growth in both our Sunday School and Worship attendances compared with last year and the last several months. This month saw our Sunday School average attendance increase to 185 compared to an average of 138 from last year and even an average of 146 from this year. Our worship attendance has also seen significant growth. Compared to the average of 162 from this time last year and a current yearly average of 173, October saw our worship average increase to nearly 200."
"Our goal for Show-Me Sunday was 219. With nearly 5 large families missing, we still came close to the goal with 213 in attendance. The last three Sundays have seen our Sunday School attendance surpass the 200 mark. This is a great victory for our church as we look forward to increasing our impact on and in our community. Pastor Ernie and I are putting pen to paper as we seek to capture the excitement exhibited this month by our membership. We are looking to embrace this exciting challenge and encourage of our members to not stop, but to continue their success."
Mike Royal, Minister of Youth & Education, Antioch Southern Baptist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri

"We continued the Show-Me-Growth Challenge to each of the 14 Sunday school classes at Ramsey Creek through out the month of October. Yes, our numbers increased, but more importantly is the active effort people were making to reach out to unchurched people. We continued to reward classes each week with Gold, silver and bronze wrapped candies for the top three, but changed our criteria weekly, so all classes were receiving something at least once during the month. This Sunday, the final winners with the highest overall % increase from Sept. 28 will have breakfast with the pastors (bronze), and lunch with the pastors (silver)."
"The nursery department held the gold place award. We are honoring the adult workers for their service. We did not reach our 150 attendance goal (on Show-Me Sunday), but we did show 19% overall increase."
Wilma Eivins, Ramsey Creek Baptist Church, Clarksville, Missouri

"I thought you would be interested to know that Bethany Baptist set a new record in Sunday School attendance last Sunday! We averaged 133 last year, and set this new record by promoting High Attendance Sunday, and had 174!"
Doug Austin, Bethany Baptist Church, Cape Girardeau, Missouri
