Our Fourth Annual “Show-Me Sunday State-Wide Sunday School High Attendance Day" emphasis is now ready to share! Each year excitement about the emphasis and use by our MBC churches has grown! The purpose of this emphasis is to draw attention to Sunday School and to use the excitement of a new Sunday School year to get your members enthused about attending Sunday School and especially about inviting lost people to come with them.
For 2011, our suggested date for Show-Me Sunday is October 30 and our theme Bible verse is Deuteronomy 32:2 – “Let my teaching fall like rain and my word settle like dew, like gentle rain on new grass and showers on tender plants.” What a wonderful thought…the powerful yet refreshing Word of God giving direction and admonishment to those who take the time to read and meditate upon it! Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all our MBC Sunday School classes and Small Groups could grow and birth new classes and groups this coming year?
The Show-Me Sunday High Attendance Day is a choice opportunity for your church to give a fresh expression of compassion for members and prospects of all ages who need Bible study. Your emphasis can be a one day event on Show-Me Sunday or it could be a four or five week long campaign and include some or all of these events:
- emphasizing a special age group each week;
- setting a weekly Sunday School attendance goal;
- setting an enrollment goal for new Sunday School members;
- planning prospect discovery events;
- conducting weekly Show-Me visitation nights; and
- conducting a Show-Me high attendance/evangelism day to conclude the emphasis.
Promotional materials will be mailed to all MBC churches starting in early August 2011, and will include: Color posters, Class Attendance Sheets, Bulletin Inserts, and Commitment Cards. All of these materials are also located on this web site and are free to download. Also on this web site we have some great helps for conducting an expanded Sunday School Attendance campaign.
