MBC prepares to host first EE training seminar

The goal is to get EE in every Missouri prison

By Staff

February 22, 2005

JEFFERSON CITY –Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) Executive Director David Clippard has a vision to have the Evangelism Explosion (EE) ministry in every Missouri prison in the next seven years, and MBC Men’s Missions & Ministry Specialist Danny Decker said that the first step toward that goal is a training seminar April 1-5 at First Baptist Church, Arnold.

Instructors Art Hallett and Allen Hill hope to train 20-25 Missouri Baptists in the friendship evangelism model of EE. Cost is $395 per adult and $295 per spouse. As an incentive, the MBC is offering a $150 scholarship to the first 10 Missouri Baptists to register online at http://www.eeinternational.org. The extender is /clinicreg/index.jsp?category=Adult&rowid=396.

“This is the first time it’s been done in the state of Missouri,” Decker said.

Hill, a deacon at First Southern Baptist Church, Del City, Okla, said that he will be assisting Hallett, an EE director from Sarasota, Fla., as he leads Missouri Baptists through 13 units of lessons.

“What would take 13 weeks for us in the church environment they are going to do in five days,” Hill said. “That is really intense.”

Once the EE model catches on in a prison, Hill said, multiplication takes place on an inmate-to-inmate basis. The Gospel is being spread through this method in 15 of the 24 prisons in Oklahoma, he said.

Decker wants people to register as soon as possible for the training.
