Missouri students earn degrees from Southwestern

FORT WORTH, Texas – Eleven students from Missouri graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary during fall commencement Dec. 12.

Degrees were conferred on 267 students at the seminary’s 206th commencement exercises. That number included students receiving diploma studies degrees, master’s degrees and doctoral degrees.

Rebekah Breitenstein, Avondale Baptist Church, Kansas City, received a master of arts in evangelism. Andrew Paul Hatfield, Birchwood Baptist Church, Independence, earned a master of divinity with biblical languages. Nathan Lee Lamberth, North Heartland Community Church, Liberty, earned a master of arts in marriage and family counseling as well as a master of arts in Christian Education.  

Craig Steven Morris, Hopedale Baptist Church, Springfield, received a master of arts in Christian education. Dennis Earl Patrich, Lindsay Baptist Church, St. Louis, received a doctor of philosophy from the School of Educational Ministry. Joseph Wooderson, First Baptist Church, Bolivar, received a master of music degree.  

Others from Missouri to earn degrees were: Jean Burns, doctor of philosophy from the School of Church Music; Alissa Elaine Comer, master of arts in marriage and family counseling; Norman Kent Duncan, master of theology; Jason Horine, master of divinity with biblical languages; and William Michael Victor, doctor of philosophy from the School of Theology.  

Southwestern Seminary’s President Paige Patterson was the commencement address speaker.

Students from 48 states, Washington D.C. and 47 countries are enrolled at Southwestern Seminary. More than 60,000 students have enrolled in the seminary since it was founded in 1908.
