Woman's Missionary Union and
Women's Missions & Ministries

WMU/Women's Missions and Ministry's goal is that Christian women within Missouri Baptist Convention churches would be burdened for the lost women around them.  As a result of this burden women will seek ways to minister and share Jesus Christ with lost family members, friends, and neighbors.

WMUWomen's Missions and Ministry is interested in sharing missions education and opportunities with women involved in churches of the Missouri Baptist Convention.  Some women will be involved in WMU (Woman's Missionary Union), and some will be involved in different aspects of women's ministries in their local churches and/or associations.
WHAT IS WMU?

Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) includes missions education from preschool through adults.

  • Mission Friends – Preschoolers (Babies through Kindergarten)

  • GA’s – Girls (Grades 1-6)

  • Children in Action – Boys and Girls (Grades 1-6)

  • Acteens – Teenage Girls (Grades 7-12)

  • Youth on Mission – Teenage Boys and Girls (Grades 7-12)

  • Women on Mission – Adult Women

  • Adults On Mission – Adult Men and Women

The Strategic Principles of Woman’s Missionary Union include the following:  Pray for and Give to Missions (Cooperative Program, Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, Annie Armstrong Easter Offering, Missouri Missions Offering); Do Missions (Mission Trips, Community Involvement, Missouri Baptist Children's Home, County Fairs, Backyard Bible Clubs, State Fair); Learn About Missions (Mission magazines, International Mission Board, North American Mission Board, Missouri Baptist Convention); Develop Spiritually Toward a Missions Lifestyle; Participate in the Work of the Church and the Denomination

WHAT IS WOMEN’S MINISTRIES?

Women’s Ministries in the local church include a variety of Bible studies, personal interest seminars for women, helps for family issues, and varied enrichment/fellowship opportunities.  Many of the women’s ministry opportunities are tools for outreach to women within the community/neighborhoods.  However, many women’s ministry groups are for the spiritual enrichment of the Christian women within the local church body.
